Paper Recycling Leeds
We offer you a unique recycling service for your business. We can provide recycling bins for your business, placed strategically around your workplace to collect your non-confidential materials. A CRB vetted Security Recycle Officer (SRO) will then go to each bin on a scheduled collection day and collect the filled bags. They will then immediately replace it with a new bag so it is ready to use. The bags are then taken to the alarmed and tracker fitted vehicle to a secured facility where the materials are recycled. A waste transfer note is then delivered to your business (small charge applies) You will also receive an annual certification of recycle accomplishment to show your staff and customers. A workplace recycle solution that will contribute to the environment.
The main aspect for Leeds Waste is based on the development of a sustainable supply chain mechanism for effective sourcing of recyclable paper. The next phase in this regard is related to logistics where the sourced paper will be transfer to the national and international paper recycling plants for the finished product (recycled paper).
We are pleased to offer a comprehensive recycling service which collects on average 50 tonnes of paper per month. Paper products such as copier paper, newspaper and magazines should be placed in re-usable woven polypropylene bags ready for collection. Cardboard can be bundled but smaller quantities can be bagged.

UK households produced 30.5 million tonnes of waste in 2003/04, of which 17% was collected for recycling. (source: defra.gov.uk) This figure is still quite low compared to some of our neighbouring EU countries, some recycling over 50% of their waste. There is still a great deal of waste which could be recycled that ends up in landfill sites which is harmful to the environment.

Biffa provide special bins and plastic bags that are designed for the collection of waste paper only within the office or work environment. As a guide we usually recommend one bin for every 4 members of staff.

Recycling is an excellent way of saving energy and conserving the environment.
Did you know that:
1 recycled tin can would save enough energy to power a television for 3 hours.
1 recycled glass bottle would save enough energy to power a computer for 25 minutes.
1 recycled plastic bottle would save enough energy to power a 60-watt light bulb for 3 hours.
70% less energy is required to recycle paper compared with making it from raw materials.
We as a company feel that not only are we moving in the right direction in being able to offer an even better waste management service to our existing customers and new ones in the future, but we are also contributing to helping the environment. If one recycled tin can is able to save enough energy to power a television for three hours our MRF will play a big part in the future of recycling and saving our planet.
